or Avoiding Things By Posting Like Thought Catalog
We all have that incestuous friendship group where everyone has slept with basically everyone else, so it happens that most people get to the point where we start to think about who has come before us. It’d be a bit weird not to, really. It isn’t the best thing to think about, and who hasn’t been jealous or annoyed at the thought of other people with ‘your’ person. But there are some good reasons why these thoughts are dumb, why you should just cheer the fuck up and enjoy what you got.
1. The obvious answer is that you beat them. They were here, now you are. Sex is basically a competition these days, to see who can have the most with the most, and although I don’t condone this it can’t be denied. Something has made you a more attractive alternative than the previous people, more desirable and wanted. You’ve got nothing to be jealous about; you’ve got the better end of the deal. Your partner doesn’t want them, they want you. You are basically the champion of sex and things to them, so relish that. Don’t question it, just go go go.
2. You’ve got your own baggage, what makes you better than them? We’ve all got at least one person in our history that we regret, and probably more. You can’t judge them and expect to not be judged yourself. If you both keep thinking about histories and other people you’ll never get to just hang out and fuck. After all, that’s what it’s all about.
3. Sex is great, don’t wreck it by thinking about someone else. Similarly, relationships are great so don’t wreck them by bringing extra people in to judge you and get in the way. This applies to friendships, serious relationships or with casual sex buddies: three is a crowd, especially when one of you is only in your head.
Yes, There are many assumptions made in this post. They may or may not apply to you, but whatever the case may be you should just chill the fuck out and enjoy yourself. There are probably other reasons, but how many do you really need?
Don’t forget to always carry a towel.
